Pearl Yachts’ ground-breaking Pearl 75 has received worldwide acclaim after being named as the best Motor Yacht under 25 metres at this year’s International Yacht & Aviation Awards. The accolade, which rewards the best in design from across the globe, was awarded to the luxury yacht builder and Kelly Hoppen MBE at a ceremony on Friday 19th April 2013. In a special collaboration with award-winning designers, Kelly Hoppen MBE, and renowned yacht designer, Bill Dixon, the Pearl 75 brings new levels of style, sophistication and features to this sector of the motor yacht market. Kelly’s well-known design ethos of balance, sophisticated use of texture and trademark neutral colour scheme is featured throughout the fresh and contemporary interior of the Pearl 75. Hosted by leading interior design magazine design et al, the awards are extremely sought-after as they are not voted for by a judging panel, but by industry professionals, clients and customers. Iain Smallridge, Managing Director of Pearl Yachts, comments: “With a unique propulsion system, a unique interior design and host of unique features, we have created a yacht that sets us apart from our competitors. This award win, which we hope is the first of many, clearly establishes our reputation as the yacht builder that thinks beyond the standard.” Commenting on the win, Kelly Hoppen, MBE, says: “Winning this prestigious award is an incredible honour. It is testament to the fact that we have created a unique and class-leading interior that not only mirrors Pearl’s unrivaled quality and exhilarating performance, but also reaffirms their position at the forefront of innovative yacht design.” Debuted at the Southampton Boat Show in September 2012, the vessel, which is the largest of the Pearl fleet, is laden with a whole host of innovative features. Created by the highly-acclaimed studios of Yacht Dixon Design, it offers owners outstanding levels of comfort with four luxuriously appointed staterooms. It also features an unusually spacious ‘lounge style’ saloon and unique open-plan gallery and dining area that are flooded with light from the conservatory-style glass roof. Boasting technical state-of-the-art systems, the Pearl 75 includes an external Jet Ski garage and a hydraulic bathing platform, which means owners can carry a jet ski and tender without the need to take up valuable flybridge space. The Pearl 75 also features the ZF series 4000 pod-drive propulsion system incorporating joystick control technology. This offers the owner joystick manoeuvrability and option of operating the yacht without crew if preferred. Powered by twin MTU 1250 HPs engines, the Pearl 75 can navigate comfortably at a cruising speed of 25 knots and a top speed of 30 knots.
